You look at the board and you say to yourself. Well, 1+1=2, so what's the big deal?
Everybody knows that much. Right? Well, not always. With teleseminars you have the abiity to expand your reach beyond prospecting to just one person at a time. In fact, with telesminars you have the ability at one time to contect with as many as a bridge line or webinar connection can hold. This means your potential audience could be 2,000+.
It truly changes the mental picture from marketng one to one to a picture of marketing one to many. Imagine what your sales could do if you had many more leads and prospects in your sales funnel? A well-done teleseminar can turn leads into hot prospects ready to listen and potentially buy.
But there's even more. You can use that one teleseminar in a variety of ways and expand your marketing reach. I call it recycling, repurposing and reusing.
You've heard of cloning? The key to promotional cloning is focus on the 3 R's. Now I'm not talking about the old school idea of Reading, 'Riting and 'Rthmetic. I'm talking about the Internet Information Age 3 R's of: repurpose, reuse, and recycle.
Repurposing content is taking existing materials such as teleseminar and transforming them into new uses of the content. You can repurpose a teleseminar into:
- An article and place it on your website or blog. You won't have to search for an idea and then research the idea and finally write it. You just have to tweak and smooth the material into an article.
- Turn it into a podcast. Imagine yourself on iTunes.
- A post for your blog. Turn an article into several pieces and it becomes multiple posts
- A video. Find some slides to accompany your presentation using a program like Camtasia . Post it on your website. Don't worry about an Oscar winning performance. People want to do business with people they know, like and trust. Video helps build trust. People like seeing the person(s) behind and in the business.
- Group several related teleseminars togethers and sell it as a product. Or give it away as a lead generation tool
The next R belongs to reuse.
- Use the teleseminar and transcribe it as a lead for a printed newsletter
- Take the information and put it in bullet form. Use it as a fact sheet you hand to prospective clients or mail to them
- Take bits and pieces of the transcripton and write a news release highlighting the information you've shared
- Use pieces of your article on some social networking sites to give you an extra link into your site
- Add the article or parts of it to your My Space site
The final R goes to recycle.
Take a look at your older teleseminars (if you've done some).
- Is there a way you can redo them? Are there some issues that have changed in the industry so you need to update and redo?
- Look at turning a teleseminar into a case study or story. Who has used the information from the teleseminar? What examples can you use? Bring the people factor into a story and change the focus. Combine audio with written text to deliver a self contained learning product or promotional tool.
Developing marketing materials takes time. Continuously thinking of new ideas can be challenging but with some planning you can find yourself stretching your teleseminars into a variety of marketing your clients and prospects will be glad to have. Repurposing, reusing and recycling can decrease development time and speed up your sales cycle.
Just remember the 3 R's ofcloning your marketing efforts: Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle and you'll have lots of content to share with your targeted prospect.

Holding your own teleseminar is easy. All you need is a bridge line, a great topic that people want to listen to, and a way of promoting so people will get on the line. Having a teleseminar can extend your reach beyond your physical location. You can have global reach developing relationships and clients worldwide.
How Easy?
Step 1 You can set up a bridge line.
A bridge line is a specialized conference call system where hundreds of people can call into the same number at the same time.
There are so many options available, both free and paid. Two free options are FreeConferenceCall.com and TheBasementVentures.com .
Free Conference Call lets you have 96 people on the line, while The Basement Ventures will let you have up to 250 people. The advantage of these services is the price. The negatives include people who call in having to pay long distance charges, variable sound quality and rare bumps off the line.
Basement Ventures is one service I use when I want live participation. It has a control panel that lets me see who has a question. The person virtually raises their hand. I can unmute individual lines. You can record the call and download it or allow people to go for a replay. It has service that allows you to have up to 250 callers. It’s free.
Free Conference call lets you record and replay your calls. It doesn’t have the control panel for questions.
Both services are reasonably reliable. I say reasonably as on busy nights especially Tuesday and Thursday, occassionally calls will be dropped as bridgelines systems overwhelm. It’s only happen to me a couple of times, and everyone was able to get back on within 10 minutes. It just meant a lot of the selling momentum was lost though during the process.
At the present time I use Instant Teleseminar by Xiosoft. It has 200 phone lines and 2000 line capacity online with IM(instant messaging capability) so people can ask questions instantly during the teleconference. It’s $47/month for unlimited use.
The advantage is people from all over the world can use their computer for the webinar connection so people can make a choice whether or not they want to pay for phone access (long distance charges).
The call is recorded for you and you only have to go to the web page to hear the back up.
Instant Teleseminar does not have the control panel so you can’t use the raise hands function if you want to do a Q and A session. It does partially make up for it by having a question submission form which you can use before or during the teleseminar. The cost is less than a small cup of coffee at Starbucks only $1.57 a day.
Step 2 Find A Great Topic
You are an expert in your field. What do you know that you can share with people? What would they pay money or spend time to learn?
People will not give up their valuable time to hear you do a live commercial. How can you create value for your audience? How can your educate them? People go on a teleseminar to learn more about a particular topic or product. What can you deliver?
Cover a subject you know well. Or find an expert you can interview. You don’t have to be the ultimate expert on a topic. Having a guest can take off some of the pressure especially when you are first starting.
Step 3 Find people to attend your teleseminar.
Growing a business or developing a practice is all about developing a prospect or lead list and then turning the leads into customers. You can find people to attend your teleseminar in a variety of ways.
- You can joint venture with people who have complimentary client lists.
- You can promote to your existing client list and ask them for referrals.
- Using online methods you can promote your teleseminar with your blog
- You can pay for web traffic through PPC or other methods.
- You can drive traffic by using social networking sites.
Sit down with your calendar, pad of paper, and pencil. Put in a date on your calendar with the time you want to hold your teleseminar.
Ok now go through the 3 steps and fill in the blanks. You've started on your 3 step teleseminar success plan. Congradulations.
